I’m so in love with newborn sessions. When we get ahold of babies under 2 weeks old, it’s like a magic time when they’re asleep and curly. Unless you’re this poor girl and your photographer’s noise machine breaks while shooting. Yeah, this sweetheart was not happy with me at all.
I showed up and he was awake. We had lunch and he was still awake. He nursed and was still awake. The room was a sauna and he was still awake. I began to fret that I’d lost my touch at getting babies asleep when his mommy finally knocked him out with another nursing.
This little peanut has got to be the most mellow baby I’ve ever photographed. Really. He was 6 days old for his session at his house here in Athens, so he slept most of the time. Even when he was awake though, he didn’t cry once. I don’t even think he was upset at all, even when we stole all of his clothes. Not to mention what a cutie is older sister is and how gorgeous the parents are.
Not the hot ones that all you guys are thinking…. The sweet, cuddly, full of life and smiles babe.
BABIES!!!
This morning we had back to back babies….one ready to tear up the world and start crawling, and one, new to the world and looking for us to give him a little peace! This young man was a CAYOOOOT…..he was so smiley for a 6 week old. I really and truly could have held on to this young man all morning.
This young lady wasn’t short on smiles either! Which, was a complete change from her 3 month session. During her 3(ish) month session she was a very serious girl. This time she was dressed (or not) for some serious fun. The thing I love most about this little lady is her drool
She doesn’t do it all the time…..but when she does, she has serious fun with it.
Today she decided that she would not just drool…she would blow me a few spit bubbles

This lil’ guy was not so little! Which, was kind of funny b/c there also wasn’t a roll on him. I will tell you he was a photographer’s dream though!! Came in sleeping and left screaming, lol. Ok, he wasn’t SCREAMING when he left, but after being photographed for the last 45 minutes he was letting us know he had had his fill.
I could not get over how stinkin’ COOL his hair was. I mean….people pay good money for the ‘do he came into this world with.
This little man was born at just over 6lbs, but in his 11 days, he’s slept so much that he’s down to 5.5! He’s SO small, and SO sleepy. I had a ball at this mommy’s house just moving him into any position I wanted to because he was so out.
Than a sweet sleeping baby? This little angel was sweet as pie! Feisty and full of personality, even at 2 weeks old!!! I really just wanted to hold and snuggle her, but she wasn’t having much of that with mom and dad….no way she was giving me any baby love!
