I got so used to having a bunch of squishy babies all June and July, so I’m missing them this month! I have some fun ideas I want to try with a super sleepy little one, so today’s manic monday is all about babies.

I was born in 1979, so I grew up with Michael Jackson’s music in the 80′s. I lost a lot of respect for him as a person over the past decade, but I still LOVE his music. I was stunned and saddened to hear about his death on Thursday and I’ve been listening to my very favorite songs on repeat all weekend.
My top three are: ‘Dirty Diana’, ‘Smooth Crimal’ and ‘Give in to me’! I think they’re REALLY powerful songs that make you feel amazing.

One of my favorite places to shoot is World Of Wonder playground at Southeast Clarke Park, but it’s been closed all winter! It’s fun for all ages and has lots of great nooks and crannies that make things really interesting for photos. It’s great right near sunrise and sunset, but pretty scary to use for photos the rest of the day because of the lack of shade trees out there. In celebration of it being opened again, three free short sessions for ages 7mo to 7years! You know what? I LOVE Disney movies. I love them so much that I was going to college for illustration so that I could animate for Disney and be a part of making the movies. I have a whole shelf of VHS and DVD Disney movies at my house and I watch them all regularly. In fact, Frankie will tell you how irritating I am when come over to her house when her babies are watching one and I start singing along.
I think I have four favorite ones: The Emperor’s New Groove (it’s just so absurd that it’s hilarious the whole way through), The Little Mermaid (classic Disney and so well done), Pocahontas (I love the spirit of the movie and how beautiful the whole movie is) and Mulan (wonderful story of triumph of a woman). I also adore The Incredibles and Wall-E, but those are technically Pixar movies.
