Two Little Princesses

I really do love meeting people who get out of the car and say “Oh, I’ve totally stalked your site for years!” I always say “Well why didn’t you call us earlier so we could get to know you??” That was this mommy. Then, her oldest little girl popped out of the car and shook my hand and said “Hey! You’re a photographer? That’s really cool. I think you’re really pretty.” and the two-year old was incredibly articulate too. I had a great chat with them through the night before I managed to sit in a fire-ant nest and scrape up my toe. Arg!! My injuries aside, aren’t these girls stunning?

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

And we sang it over….and over….and over again:)

But it was worth it to get these gorgeous baby photos! My favorite part is that the dress in the first two photos was mama’s when she was a baby! We won’t talk about how long ago that was, now will we;)

As you scroll you’ll see her change from vintage baby to modern baby. It’s one of the many reasons I love shooting at the studio….so many looks all in one location:)

Roll Tide!

This is the second ‘Bama fan we had in the studio this week! Mom made the 4 hour drive over from Birmingham to have her sweet, perfect baby belly photographed! I can’t wait to see this little newborn girl in her pink Alabama outfit!!!

Hello, tiny

This sweetie was the answer to my model call for an outdoor newborn, and I’m so glad she was because her parents are SUPER nice! We met up at one of my new favorite spots for a session, Ashford Manor! If you’ve never been there, you HAVE to see it. The grounds are flat out stunning and the guys that run it are amazingly nice too. Anyway, This little tiny girl arrived sleepy but woke up while we were getting set up. Thank goodness mom and dad are good with bodily fluids, because she got them both with just about everything. We were patient though and finally she was out for good. I was able to get everything I wanted and a few bonus shots!

I’m gonna watch you shine, gonna watch you grow.

And that’s just what we’ve gotten to do with this little beauty! Amazingly, she hasn’t changed much at all in her first year! As a Tales From the Crib baby planner we’ve seen her through each of her milestones during her first year! What a joy it has been! Her eyes have remained a stunning blue, and her grin is a little more toothy now;)Happy birthday baby G!!!

Hello, wide awake!

This sweetie slept for TEN whole minutes out of this afternoon’s three hour newborn session. She was nursed, shushed, swung, swayed, swaddled, held, cuddled, patted… you name it… She wasn’t having any of it. Thank goodness mom was casual and open to that being how it was.

Another graduate!

You’d think that of all the times I’ve been to this girl’s house for photos, she’s remember me and I wouldn’t get the “Oh, you’re scary!” face for 20 minutes when I walk in.. but no. She flirts and smiles like a champ when mommy is holding her but if I look like I’m coming too close that smile vanishes! She’s now a Tales From the Crib graduate! Thank goodness we already have two more sessions on the calender or I’d be going through withdrawals. I need my dose of cute curly-headed baby! You can see her sitting up session, her heads up session and her newborn session!

How I love my job!

These two girls (you may recognize them from last year when they both came in with their sister, Ava Jane) make me laugh so hard. So, we went out to the Botanical Garden on Sunday the 1st, but it was grey and dreary, then rained on us, and then my camera ran out of batteries right on the last shot I needed, so they came back out yesterday to finish up. It was grey and nasty the whole day except for that one little 45 minute section of sun we got last night when we were out there. We finished up the night at Marble Slab getting birthday cake ice cream ON my birthday. In fact, I think I may have turned 31 years old while we were sitting there. What a fantastic night!
