Welcome new brother

Now, same family as below, but baby brother is here! The sister is one of my favorite girls ever, I have been shooting her for over 5 years. She’s the daughter of a very close friend of mine I have known for 12 years. They just welcomed her baby brother. This shoot had been building in my head for 8 months, ever since I found out they were expecting. I’m SO thrilled with the results. It helps to have such a patient big sister (she’s almost 10 years old!).

Oh, Baby!

I’m sure a lot of our blog readers know this family on sight by now. I’ve known the daddy for 12 years (I met him just after high school!) and when they told me they were expecting, I literally squealed with delight and then cried a little in happiness. I really am SO happy to be able to be ‘there’ with them in this. I still am horrible at maternity images, so I had Frankie there with me to give them stunning belly photos, then I finished up with the family photos. :)

Studio family

It’s the holiday season….

and then there is another line to that song, but I am too beat to remember it! 12 hour day at the studio, fabulous, awesome sessions, fabulous, awesome people. And I, am a fabulously, awesome, tired person!

Here are you sneak peeks friends…more to come…this was all I could get to after my day of shooting!

Well, if this isn’t Christmas cheer, I don’t know what is!

Brotherly Love!

I’m gonna be a cowboy, baby!

It’s a yearly thing we’ve got going on!

For the past…oh….5 years I think! We do something a little different every year they come in, and this year was the year of the studio! I cannot believe how these two have grown!

Baby B from the TFC!

Another Tales From the Crib baby! This little guy had his “heads up” session on Saturday! Man, what fabulous weather it was! While we typically do these sessions indoors, it was so nice outside and he had such good head control we headed to the outdoors! Mom and dad also happened to have their eldest “son” with them, so we threw Charlie in for a few photos too!

This photo gets a little blurb all its own! Mom asked for some photos in his christening gown. Well, OF COURSE! Then, she proceeded to tell me how she had had the gown custom made from her wedding dress! Can we say AWESOME! We keep carrying on the conversation because I am in total awe of the beauty of this gown and what do you know…..MONICA GILSTRAP made her gown! The same Monica Gilstrap who hooked me up with a black corduroy jacket for my son when I couldn’t find one for family photos! Small, small world I tell you! If you are interested in Monica’s work, she does have a website…..

This really is a fabulous idea! I mean, let’s face it, we aren’t ever wearing our wedding dresses again! What a wonderful way to have a piece of your family’s beginning passed down!

Peace, love, joy…..

CHAOS!

Dude, seriously….such is life with an 18 monther. They are independent, they are strong-willed, they are explorers….THEY ARE FAST! Good gracious. I burned enough calories during this session that I harbored ZERO guilt going home to claim my 12oz. reward!

However….the thing about chaos is you must embrace it! You can’t try to get a handle on it, no, that does nothing but create frustration, you just let it run its course. And so, we did! The end result…totally worth it!

Yea, you can see mischief written all over his face!

Sweet Big Sis.

LOVE mama love!

Dad’s know just what to do to embrace the chaos!

Pajama Jammy Jam

Oh, how I love this family. I see them at least twice every year and I just love them more and more every time. This year for their holiday photos they wanted a photos in front of the door like they do every time, but they also asked for something more fun and unique. I suggested a bed jumping in pajamas theme, which they all thought was pretty fun. Big sister sure is the best jumping, littlest brother was short a nap and so not into it, poor guy.

The Fantastic Three

Yeah, let me tell you how much I love these kids. I rented a fisheye lens for another shoot this week and decided to use it today for a test drive. I said “Okay, lean in really close and yell at me!” Yeah, two out of three’s not bad. :P
