Baby baby…

Welcome home, baby boy! I feel like it was just yesterday when I was at this family’s home welcoming their first for her newborn pictures. This fellow had a good two pounds on his sister, but he has the same eyes and the same dislike of being asleep. Bet you can’t add ‘Helping shave newborn’s head for Mohawk’ to your resume’ though… I can now. Baby boy had to have part of his head clippered at the hospital for an IV in the NICU. I told them they should go ahead and hit both sides and give him a real Mohawk. Dad was like “Yeah, it’s going to grow back in all funky if we don’t..” and mom was like “I’m game as long as it’s not a high-and-tight.” Sooo, yeah. I helped give a baby a Mohawk yesterday.. I’ve heard that his grandmother was not a fan of it.:PWe did a few of him pre-clipper though, just for her.

A little brotherly love and sisterly sass.

These two are a HOOT. HOOT I tell you! Now, I am sure at home there are times when mom and dad want to pull their hair out. But, when these two come in to the studio, they LOVE each other. Truly love each other. I think what sealed the deal for me on their sibling love affair was this:

We were talking about DS games, and which were their favorite ones. I asked little sister if she ever played the DS and big brother piped up “Oh, YES. You know, she looks little and small, but she is REALLY GOOD at playing the DS. She doesn’t play it like a baby. She can PLAY it.”

I know, that seems like such a small statement, but anyone with children, especially older brother/little sister children will know what a true testament to love this is! Big brothers just don’t openly gush about their little sisters;)And, she loves him too. So so so much! There are a few photos I have of her just staring at him in complete admiration while he is totally oblivious. Yes, friends, they can totally get on each others nerves at home but get them out in public and their true feelings for each other come out;)

A new brother

I love it when repeat clients add to their families. Older brother here is someone we’ve had the privilege of watching grow since he was 8 months old! Mister new was born at over 9lbs and 21 inches long! I swear, It’s been a while since I’ve held a newborn that big; my arms are all sore now. This session was done at home. I LOVE home newborns because I get to really include things that we don’t have at the studio. All of you long time blog stalkers know my affair with babies in beds, so I was excited to get the chance again.

Plaid trio

These three are all so incredibly different. I loved just watching them interact with each other. Older sister is super calm and patient and motherly. Brother is bouncy and happy, but also laid back and gentle. Little sister copies everything older sister does, but in her own sassy way and only if it’s her idea first.

And we all fall down…

Ok, not all of us. Just me. Thankfully at the END of the session.

Man, we were 30 minutes in to a FANTASTIC family session, so fantastic, that we were done with the kids, one last wide angle shot, and then we were gonna photograph just mom and dad together. This would have been a first, because usually by the time we are done with this crew mom and dad are WAY too spent for photos of the two of them LOL!

Anyhow, I stepped down off the sidewalk (a good 3 foot drop) for the 4th time during the session and hit a nice soggy wet patch of grass/dirt and turned my ankle. It was awesome. Really awesome. Only not:|

Look, I’ve just made this post about me. Not their photos. But, oh well….I’m pretty much a part of their family, so, by default, this post is at least about their family;)

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

And we sang it over….and over….and over again:)

But it was worth it to get these gorgeous baby photos! My favorite part is that the dress in the first two photos was mama’s when she was a baby! We won’t talk about how long ago that was, now will we;)

As you scroll you’ll see her change from vintage baby to modern baby. It’s one of the many reasons I love shooting at the studio….so many looks all in one location:)

Me and you, and you and me

No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be….So happy together!

We were greeted at the studio by twins this weekend! I can’t tell you how much I love working with siblings, and twins are even more fun! I love being able to see two babies, same birthday, same life style, be so different! Reminds me that no matter how similar people are, they are still their very own individuals! And these two are definitely that, individual but equally ADORABLE! Together…too much cuteness to handle!

Ok, this last one has me cracking UP! It’s like he KNOWS she is about to elbow him in the head LOL!
