Pretty Fall Princess

This little girl.. she has come a long way in pictures. The very first session we ever did for her, I think we got 10 photos, all of them feature her with a sucker in each hand, tears pouring down her face, poor thing. Since then, we’ve done her photos for all of our charity events and she does pretty well for the 5 minutes we have, but no one knew how she’d do for a full session. I’m happy to say that it went great! We trotted around the botanical gardens for her fairytale session. Doesn’t she look amazing in brown?

Princess in brown

So I finally got to test drive my brand new chocolate brown gown this evening! This sweetheart is super shy but so so gorgeous. I LOVED to watch her with her little brother because it’s so so plain that she just loves him to bits. He strolled up and patted her dress and said “Oh, so pretty!” and she replies “You should have been born a girl if you wanted to be in the pictures!” This lovely girl did every single thing I asked of her and she is a brilliant princess!

Lovely little tinkerbell

This little girl’s mother says “Oh, she’s pure magic. Everyone falls in love with her.” It’s so so true. Meet Chloe. She’s the winner of this year’s Memorial Princess Session. Her nominator wrote “Our Honored Hero for the Athens Leukemia/Lymphoma Society is a 3-yr old girl named Chloe. She was born with Downs Syndrome and at the age of 2 was diagnosed with leukemia.  After 6 months in the hospital, she is now in remission!  I don’t know her last name, but I’m copying the LLS representative on this email so that she can send you the info.  Chloe would be a wonderful choice for your princess because she is one of those “self-rescuing princesses” that should be in more fairy tales.  She’s joyful and loves to sing and dance.  She is just a kid, regardless of how much she’s survived…she’s just a sweet little kid.

Tonight’s session was super super fun. She laughed and bounced through the session and I found myself giggling so much my stomach muscles hurt! Her daddy flew his little tinkerbell all over the gardens, her mommy blew her kisses and her sister played ball with her and everyone (including me) loved her to bits. She really IS a self-rescuing princess, and the world needs more of her for sure.

Read more of her story in the Oconee Leader and her mommy’s blog here.

Blue Belle

Meet Kaia. She’s another nomination for our Memorial Princess sessions. Miss Kaia was born early and had to fight for every little bit of weight she has on her tiny body. Her nominator wrote “Kaia was born about 20 weeks early at 14 ounces.  I was there the night she was born, never in my life have I seen such a miracle of a little girl.  I have pictures of Kaia when she was smaller than a dollar bill and a 20 oz bottle of Coke.” What an amazing recovery this sweetheart has had. At our session, she kept up a nice running dialogue of one-sided conversation no one but her could understand. Loved her!

Blue princess

Miss Annabeth here is one of the nominations for our memorial princess sessions. Annabeth was born deaf and was fitted for cochlear implants a year ago. In that year, her Mommy says she’s gone from a shy, scared little girl to an adventurous, willful self-saving princess. I tell you, she had me in stitches at our session tonight! She’s just so darn funny! She was in the water, running through the grass, hopping up and down, she had it all. I can’t wait to see what kind of person she turns into!

We started out in this wonderful little sapphire fairy outfit, but it was itchy and the wings were tight. I think everyone with a two-year-old know what happens when you have an itchy dress. Sooo we ended up with another dress.:)

The funniest thing about this session? I LOVE this grass and wanted her in it so bad, but she wouldn’t put her feet down to stand in it, so I said to her mommy “Okay, you are going to laugh, but if you lay down and let her stand on you and put your hands under the dress to hold her up, I won’t be able to see you at all. Are you game for that?” Bless her, but she giggled at me but laid right down in that grass to let me get my shot! Ah.. the wonderful life of assisting at a photography session!

Two by two…

Double the pleasure
Double the fun
Double the chaos
with 2, not just 1.

Double the groceries
Double the food
Double the clothes
They both outgrew.

Double the treasure
It’s only just begun
The joy they bring together
will never be outdone.

Two Little Princesses

I really do love meeting people who get out of the car and say “Oh, I’ve totally stalked your site for years!” I always say “Well why didn’t you call us earlier so we could get to know you??” That was this mommy. Then, her oldest little girl popped out of the car and shook my hand and said “Hey! You’re a photographer? That’s really cool. I think you’re really pretty.” and the two-year old was incredibly articulate too. I had a great chat with them through the night before I managed to sit in a fire-ant nest and scrape up my toe. Arg!! My injuries aside, aren’t these girls stunning?
