For those of you who have never been to the studio….or never read the blog before, meet Anna:

Let me tell you a little bit about Anna…
Anna has been an intern at Stylized Portraiture for the last 2 years. Instead of rewriting WHY we love Anna so much AGAIN, I am going to copy and past the letter of reccomendation I sent to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) for her:
To whom it may concern:
Anna Pierce has been a fabulous assistant to myself and Stylized Portraiture’s co-owner and photographer Heather Lickliter for the past twenty-two months.
Anna is a dedicated, hard-working, self motivated employee. She is one that I would truly hate to lose. Unlike most teenagers we have worked with, Anna would rather spend her time in the studio perfecting her craft than hanging out with her friends. In her nearly two years of working for us, she has missed work only once due to illness and twice for school related commitments. Throughout her employment with us, her schooling has remained her top priority. There has never been a time at the studio that she has been content to sit with nothing to do. Though in the beginning her photography related workload was minimal, Anna has never had to be asked to find something to do. Whether it be cleaning and organizing the studio, preparing for the next days sessions, or simply dusting, she has always made the most of her workday.
When Anna first applied for an apprenticeship with Stylized Portraiture, it was immediately evident that she had artistic attributes that simply cannot be taught. Though she possesses a natural eye and ability to create artistic portraits, Anna is constantly seeking to learn more. She is quick to ask questions and seek clarification if there is something she doesn’t quite understand. I was impressed with Anna’s natural talent with the camera and am amazed by her initiative in taking what she has been taught and injecting it into her own work. She has been able to work both ends of the photography spectrum; giving clients what they want and still keeping her work her own.
It is without hesitation that I say Anna Pierce would be an asset to any school in the country. Aside from being a talented artist, she is an excellent student. Stylized Portraiture will be losing a valuable photographer, though she will be a welcome addition to any photography program.
Sincerely,
Frankie Wylie
Owner, Stylized Portraiture
Yeah, and sadly, that doesn’t even begin to touch on how AWESOME Anna is. So awesome that she did indeed get accepted into SCAD AND received a partial scholarship! The portfolio she presented was wonderful and earned her extra money towards her tuition. Now, I know tuition is expensive at every school, I KNOW. However, even with her scholarship, Anna still doesn’t have nearly enough to cover her academic expenses. As a matter of fact, she is currently looking for another part-time job to save more money for school. I HATE to know this. Not because it takes her away from us, that isn’t the case at all. She loves it so much here that if she finds another part-time job she will only work on the days she doesn’t here. I mean, can you imagine, spending the summer after you graduate WORKING your tail off because going to a school that means SO MUCH is far more important than enjoying those last 12 weeks of freedom as an *ahem* adult!? Yea, not fun.
Soooo, WHAT does this have to do with Manic Monday!? I’m getting there, I promise
Anna is in need of two things: 1. Money for college. 2. New images to submit for an updated portfolio in hopes of getting even MORE money for college. So, YOU can help her do this!!!
We are taking our Little Peeps sessions OUTSIDE! And I don’t mean at the studio!
