This little man was all fun and smiles for his first birthday session, that is until we gave him his cupcake… I know, you’re thinking, what kid doesn’t like cupcakes?! Well, this cupcake was a special vegan cupcake and this little guy was not diggin’ it LOL! I heard he got some sugary cupcake goodness afterwards, though to compensate for us torturing him

So, those of you who know me….really, really KNOW me….or, have ever been to the studio….KNOW that I LOVE me some sock monkeys. *LOOOVVEE them* (said in my best Wheezy voice). I love them so much that I have a friend, in Louisiana, named Crystal, who I order CUSTOM sock monkeys from (http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElegantHobbies)! Her work is AMAZING. If you have ever seen/touched/felt Matilda, Mad Max (the pirate) or Manny, you KNOW that they are amazingly well made. They have to be to suffer the wrath of the 18 month old clients, or the rambunctious 4 year old boys we get in

Meet Maggie….
I used to love my glowworm when I was little. I remember hiding under things where it was dark just to watch it light up! I like the aquadoodle that my daughter has. We love to just sit and draw things over and over. A good way not to go thru a ton of paper and also a creative outlet!
Maggie is adorable. She is just waiting for her adventures.
I don’t remember having a favorite toy as a child, but my God child has a toy GLOWY (it is like the glow worm but it is pooh bear in pajamas and a night hat, his face glows when you press his tummy…and it plays night sounds…crickets, an owl hoots….and it think it plays the good night song.
My favorite, favorite toys growing up were toy horses; we had sculptured green carpet that made the *perfect* grass for them to gallop on! I used to even get my mom’s tiny little fake Christmas tree, put it down in the floor, and let all my toy horses have Christmas, complete with (baby powder) snow! My favorite toy of my daughter’s, though, is her little 6″ Waldorf doll from Hillcountry Dollmaker; it has fuzzy strawberry blond hair and blue eyes (just like hers), tiny little knitted britches, and an upcycled chenille Moses basket. Adorable!
When I was a child, my favorite toy was a baby doll named Tu-ning (not sure where that name came from). Today, my daughter has a music n’ color toy that plays music while you color. The faster you color, the faster the tempo! I think I enjoy doodling on it more than my toddler does.
My favorite toy growing up was a stuffed lion aptly named Lioney. I got him when I was five at an antique store. He even survived a house fire! The toy that I most love today is still Lioney!!! He’s stayed with me all these years and I’m excited to share him with my kids when I finally have them.
I looooved my skip it as a kid from the 80’s. Hours of fun. Now that I have two kiddies I secretly love to play with the magna doodle
What a sweetie! I loved listening to her chatter while we were walking around the studio! I think we talked about everything possible to talk about. She loves her grandmother’s dog like you wouldn’t believe!
Now, same family as below, but baby brother is here! The sister is one of my favorite girls ever, I have been shooting her for over 5 years. She’s the daughter of a very close friend of mine I have known for 12 years. They just welcomed her baby brother. This shoot had been building in my head for 8 months, ever since I found out they were expecting. I’m SO thrilled with the results. It helps to have such a patient big sister (she’s almost 10 years old!).
I’m sure a lot of our blog readers know this family on sight by now. I’ve known the daddy for 12 years (I met him just after high school!) and when they told me they were expecting, I literally squealed with delight and then cried a little in happiness. I really am SO happy to be able to be ‘there’ with them in this. I still am horrible at maternity images, so I had Frankie there with me to give them stunning belly photos, then I finished up with the family photos.
That’s how we roll around here! It’s been asked, several times, if we had something similar to the Tales From the Crib for our older kid clients. Aside from Style For Life, there was no other alternative. Until now
