I promise, we aren’t crazy

Though, that’s not entirely true. We are maybe a weeeee little bit crazy!

Yes, this would be the 2nd time in two years that we changed the blog design. Yes, we are aware that it is a lot bit excessive. But, we also promise that this change will be much more permanent! In the last two years, so much has changed like moving two times in 6 months.

So, here we are. Again. A new, fresh look, that is much more US and not so “OMG I WANNA RIP MY EYEBALLS OUT!” We are a relaxed, chill group of people. We want our blog to reflect that. Keep the focus on the fabulous people that we photograph, not all the polka dots and links and what not. Clean. Pure. Simple. Totally us:)

This change has also allowed us the fabulous ability to feature one session in the header of the new blog! So, each month, one session will be chosen to be displayed at the top of the page for the next month. Your session could be sitting pretty at the top of the blog for 28, 30, or 31 fabulous days (yes, occasionally 29 on the Leap Year)! Fun, we know;)

Take a look around, familiarize yourself with our new little patch in the World Wide Web, and you just may find a few new surprises that might make you squeal! ;)

We all need a little motivation sometimes!!!

Our business is about creating fabulous photographs and memories for you guys. We LOVE what we do. But, here’s the deal… the images we create for you should not be the only images you have! Even though Heather and I are professionals, we often times find ourselves not picking up our cameras for those every day moments that happen. Truth be known, my kids’ memories live on my iPhone. *gasp* Go ahead, pick your mouth up off the floor. Yes, my iPhone is my primary camera for my day to day photos. I know Heather uses a point-and-shoot for her photos of her cat!

Anyhow, we thought it would be fun to get you all to join us in a little 30 day challenge. While avoiding my children doing some research for work, I took a little detour over to Pinterest and stumbled upon Abby’s amazing challenge at A Feathered Nest. She came up with this fabulous little chart that has 30 preset subjects all laid out for you! You can even join her flickr group and post along with others!

So please, join us in taking a little time each day in June to capture of photo of the daily item! Head over to our Facebook page and post your photo on our wall! Be sure to tag yourself and us in your photo. For every photo you post, you will be entered into a drawing that could score you a press printed album of your photos! Plus, for each person who COMPLETES the 30 days, we will print your favorite image as an 8×10!!! So for every image you post, you’ll get your name in the album hat. Post all 30, and you have 30 chances PLUS an automatic 8×10 of the photo you love the most:)All photos must be posted by July 3rd.

Remember…these do NOT have to be fabulous photos. They don’t have to be taken with anything other than your phone, like all of mine will be , it’s about the moment! Happy snapping people! *Abby gives permission for you to print the checklist off to use as a guide, so print away:)

I was like baby, baby, baby….

Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I bet mama gets this all the time….”Ohhhhhhhh are these all yours!?” Secretly I hope she replies with “No, actually, I don’t know who these children to belong to nor why they are calling me mom!?”

I can think of few women who possess the strength, patience and pure desire to parent more children than they have arms, but these parents do! One might think the studio was complete and total chaos this morning, but actually, it was quite the opposite! We had fun, we played, we laughed, and the 6 big siblings were a dream! Laid back and casual, just the way we like it here:)

what this little guy was thinking! He is such an introspective little man, always looking, thinking, processing! No tears, just pure concentration:)I love seeing this family and am so glad they are a part of our Tales From the Crib! I snapped a few quick shots of big brother who has the most amazing eyelashes EVER!!!

Sweet as honey…

That’s what these two are together! I don’t know how mom can stand it! Big sister loves little brother SO much, and he is enamored with her! I loved watching them interact together. And little man here was on the move! I had to laugh, because there were times that he would stand up, thinking he could just run right across the room, and well, he was wrong, hehehehehe. ADORABLE!

When is he happiest? 7:45am….

Sweet, let’s do it! I love that we are able to accommodate all schedules at Stylized Portraiture. When photographing little people, it really is important to schedule it around their happiest time of day! So, when mom tells me he is happiest early in the morning, I am happy to get up early too and capture that. Now, there are the occasions that we schedule around their “happiest” time and they just aren’t that into being photographed. That was NOT the case here. Sweet, baby boy was everything I’d hoped he’d be….happy, alert, and ALL smiles!

Hello, ladies!

Oh yea, this little man right here is too cute for words! I am just betting that everyone who meets him falls in love with him! Having not seen him since his newborn session, I was amazed at how big he was! And so full of personality! I loved it. Plus, that shirt with the sunglasses!? Yea, that’s too much cuteness, it is!!!

And…..he’s a thumb sucker, HOW SWEET!?
