First annual memorial princess sessions

Stylized Portraiture announces the first annual Sabina Hartley-Burke and Ava Jane Gibson memorial princess sessions!

Sabina lost her battle with a brain stem tumor on May 31st, 2007. She was eight. Ava Jane Gibson lost her battle with a heart defect on August 5, 2009. She was three. Before each of them left this world, I was lucky enough to meet them for a princess photo session. Since then, I’ve felt like it’s something we have to do for another deserving girl every year.

You know, sometimes it is hard to believe in Fairy Tales. There are times in life when we want nothing more than a magic wand and a little pixie dust to take us to a happy place! We know that there are some people that you would love to do that for too. Now, where do YOU come in? Let’s be honest; no one loves anything more than hearing the good, fabulous, things people have to say about them or their children. Whether it is that they have triumphed over troubled times, are fighting health issues or that they are just an amazing kid who deserves a little something special, people LOVE to know that other people feel that way about them. So, it is up to YOU to nominate a family that has a little girl(s) between the ages of 18months and 7 years old. Tell us why you think they deserve to have their little girl whisked off to a magical place where she is queen and is photographed as such!

Send us an email sharing why you think the person you are nominating should be THE ONE for this totally awesome package. What makes that little girl so special and why does she deserve to be treated like a queen?

Up for grabs:

A $1500 value fairy tale package

This captivating collection begins with your princess being photographed in a lovely garden setting. She will be able to wear two of our couture gowns along with any other accessories she chooses. Included in the collection is a 16×20 canvas gallery wrap piece and a 20 page storybook.

Deadline for nominations: Tuesday, August 31st, 2010. Photo sessions will be scheduled for September or October. Email to heather@stylizedportraiture.com Please forward this to everyone you can think of in case they know a deserving girl too!

Two Little Princesses

I really do love meeting people who get out of the car and say “Oh, I’ve totally stalked your site for years!” I always say “Well why didn’t you call us earlier so we could get to know you??” That was this mommy. Then, her oldest little girl popped out of the car and shook my hand and said “Hey! You’re a photographer? That’s really cool. I think you’re really pretty.” and the two-year old was incredibly articulate too. I had a great chat with them through the night before I managed to sit in a fire-ant nest and scrape up my toe. Arg!! My injuries aside, aren’t these girls stunning?

I can have Janie there on Tuesday if you want her…she just turned 18 months though…she is standing/walking/running!! Still pretty small though-wearing 9 month clothes. Just call me if you need her. 770-789-9302 If not, I’ll see you soon for a session with her and her sister (as soon as we get her home from Taiwan)!!

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

And we sang it over….and over….and over again:)

But it was worth it to get these gorgeous baby photos! My favorite part is that the dress in the first two photos was mama’s when she was a baby! We won’t talk about how long ago that was, now will we;)

As you scroll you’ll see her change from vintage baby to modern baby. It’s one of the many reasons I love shooting at the studio….so many looks all in one location:)

Roll Tide!

This is the second ‘Bama fan we had in the studio this week! Mom made the 4 hour drive over from Birmingham to have her sweet, perfect baby belly photographed! I can’t wait to see this little newborn girl in her pink Alabama outfit!!!

Hello, tiny

This sweetie was the answer to my model call for an outdoor newborn, and I’m so glad she was because her parents are SUPER nice! We met up at one of my new favorite spots for a session, Ashford Manor! If you’ve never been there, you HAVE to see it. The grounds are flat out stunning and the guys that run it are amazingly nice too. Anyway, This little tiny girl arrived sleepy but woke up while we were getting set up. Thank goodness mom and dad are good with bodily fluids, because she got them both with just about everything. We were patient though and finally she was out for good. I was able to get everything I wanted and a few bonus shots!

These are beautiful!

What kind of blanket is that top one, so cool! Would love some for some photos???

I’m gonna watch you shine, gonna watch you grow.

And that’s just what we’ve gotten to do with this little beauty! Amazingly, she hasn’t changed much at all in her first year! As a Tales From the Crib baby planner we’ve seen her through each of her milestones during her first year! What a joy it has been! Her eyes have remained a stunning blue, and her grin is a little more toothy now;)Happy birthday baby G!!!

Soggy but fun

This little man had a very soggy session at the gardens! At 8am, everything was still sopping wet in dew. Our shoes were sloshing and my pants cuff took hours to dry. Poor guy didn’t want to walk it in it, and I don’t blame him!!
